Wineries Should Invite Followers Into That World

September 3, 2022 · by Amy Lieberfarb ·

Wine Country is a place unlike any other. Rustic elegance abounds. As a bonus for enthusiasts, wineries can be found across the globe. So many vineyards, so little time.

Each region has it’s own magic sauce. A story to tell. A landscape to show off. Tastemakers to highlight.

In order to stand out among the many, wineries should invite followers into that world. Get online. Entice them to visit. Show them what that looks like.

Pro Tip: Wine Country is BEAUTIFUL.

For those of us in the industry, it can be easy to forget that most people do not drive past vineyards every morning, have an abundance of wines at their fingertips or have access to a winery. Showing off the beauty, the abundance and the people who make wine country special opens up a new world. Inviting eagerness to book a trip.

It is time to re-imagine the customer experience – online. The digital age. We have entered a new era and businesses will get left behind without a strategy in place.

Best Approach: Build online communities of people eager to see what’s next. Waiting to see this year’s event schedule to purchase tickets. Excited for new wine releases before they even ship. Connected to the winemaker, the staff and the sense of place like never before. From the comfort of their own home.

Winery Marketing is all about Showing the Experience Itself like this wine event weekend

The time is here for wineries to rethink the traditional approach to driving sales, creating loyal wine club members and business growth. Raw data, immersive experiences, insight driven personalization, and community building with input is key.

Wineries should be truly interacting with wine enthusiasts. Digital marketing is not a statement as it traditionally was. Social media and online marketing is a CONVERSATION. Consumer centric.

Ask: Who are our customers? What do they value?

Then show them that you… have what they want. Right here. In Wine Country.

The future of marketing is communication. In private communities. Creating partnerships. Benefitting everyone involved. Interactive. Culture and code paired with wine. At Sip On This, we are here for it.
