New Winery Geek App to be Showcased on
Twitter’s Live #SonomaChat, December 17
by: Melissa Vogt
On December 17th from 5 to 6 p.m., Wine Country This Week will team up with #SonomaChat to host a live Twitter chat featuring Winery Geek – Wine Country This Week’s new app.
Winery Geek, which is FREE to download for both iPhone and Android, is a comprehensive winery tasting room resource app that features an all-inclusive listing of more than 2,100 California wineries and tasting rooms.
On the app, users can conveniently search for wineries nearby, find wineries that pour specific varietals, view wineries by list or map, and even search by winery attributes such as caves, family or pet friendly, food and wine pairing, picnic areas, vineyard or winery tours and much more! Additionally, the app features information on planning wine country day trips, access to exclusive tasting room deals and discounts, videos, the ability to check in on social media and more!
#SonomaChat, created and moderated by Amy Lieberfarb (with 48,000+ followers), is an online and live worldwide social community and conversation on Twitter, featuring weekly guest hosts between the hours of 5 to 6 p.m. every #WineWednesday.
#SonomaChat is a perfect community for wine and food fans to connect with each other and learn more about wine during each weekly chat. Amy highlights one guest host per week with a six-question format for interactive fun! During the hour, participants discover new wineries and wines, while learning more about the wine industry and Sonoma County.
For Winery Geek’s feature on #SonomaChat, Winery Geek and Amy Lieberfarb will be tweeting live from VJB Cellars in the Sonoma Valley. The chat will exhibit a game-like style in which Twitter participants will attempt to answer six questions—about Winery Geek—between 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. for a chance to win $75 wine country gift certificates.
The answers to the questions can be learned by engaging and interacting with the Winery Geek app!
#SonomaChat participants should familiarize themselves with the Winery Geek app ahead of time in order to play the game during #SonomaChat. Six Twitter participants who answer at least one question correctly throughout the hour will be randomly chosen to receive one of six $75 wine country gift certificates!
To participate, participants must first download the Winery Geek app well in advance of the December 17th #SonomaChat date and follow @WineryGeek on Twitter.
