From the large wood-fired rotisserie, to the small or big bite plates featuring fresh local meats with seasonal produce, Monti’s Rotisserie & Bar in Santa Rosa has the true Wine Country comfort feel. Part of the Stark family of restaurants, Monti’s is a favorite of locals.
In addition to Monti’s, Stark’s Reality Restaurants also owns Willis Wine Bar in Santa Rosa and Healdsburg, Starks Steakhouse in Santa Rosa and Bravas in Healdsburg among others.
I am a big fan of all of their dining rooms. Willis and Bravas both serve terrific Tapas style small plates, Starks Steakhouse has a terrific lounge and the dining room has a terrific ambiance and unique service style.
The Rotisserie Bar is the closest to my house and I visit them most often at Happy Hour and for dinner on nights when the summer concert series is playing right outside. You can sit on the patio dining area and enjoy the music and wonderful food at the same time.
Most of their restaurants also feature fierce wine lists that include many local favorites as well as hard to find options from small batch winery producers. I would love to meet their wine buyer to pick their brain sometime. Like any good Wine Country dining room, Monti’s caters to winelovers and the wines on the list pair well with the food choices. They also keep us locals who feel strongly about our Sonoma County favorites happy by including them on the list.
This past week my friend Sherri and I were attending a screening of Somm the Movie along with a Q & A session with Ian Cauble, MS afterwards. This event also featured information about Mr. Cauble’s newest venture, Somm Select at Sonoma State University.
We decided to meet before the event for lunch and to catch up first at Monti’s. Sherri is a local Wine Guru with an awesome wine blog as well as a foodie and our friendship pairs together quite nicely.
We both love oysters and started with those.
We then ordered a charcuterie and a cheese plate to enjoy together. Due to our need for hydration with all these snacks, we ordered a tall glass of bubbly of course. Lunch of champions folks.
Final Decision: Prosecco Borgo Magredo Italy N.V. Yum.
