Little Zin Now & Then? Or A Lot… ZAP

January 26, 2014 · by Amy Lieberfarb ·

2013_flights_007Introducing Zinfandel outreach & education to thousands of consumers, market professionals & industry folk alike, The Zinfandel Advocates & Producers are ready for their biggest event of 2014.

With only a few weeks until “Go Time”…I am hearing plenty of buzz about this world class varietal. This year’s event has been re-designed with the input of the members attending those past year’s Zinfandel Festival.

Early this morning, Jon Thorsen at ReverseWineSnob, tweeted about ZAP prompting me to click on the event website: Zinfandel.org again to read more.

2013_epicuria_005Sounds like I may need to take a ferry ride over the Golden Gate & take a sip. I haven’t decided if I will buy tickets yet this year, but I have heard quite the buzz.

Held in an iconic San Francisco travel destination, which is also conveniently located on the other end of my ferry ride from the North Bay.

Overlooking the bridge itself, The Presidio should be a picture perfect location for the food & Zin experience. It has been over 2 years since I have stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco

I am sure that it will also be a lovely venue for the guests enjoying the Flights experience or the Winemakers Dinner.

2013_epicuria_001Celebrate the wine that helped settle the Western frontier & is toted as America’s Heritage Wine & raise a glass with me & the many other Zin fans. The Zinfandel Experience runs for three days with many different types of ticket packages to suit any needs. Sip on some amazing red wine this January 23-25, 2014 in San Francisco.

Some of my favorite winemakers from the list of Zinfandel producers in attendance at the ZAP experience are Cline Cellars -Sonoma County, Dane Cellars – Sonoma Valley, Dry Creek Vineyard – Sonoma County, Folie a Deux Trinchero Family Estates – Napa Valley, Hendry – South Napa Valley, Peachy Canyon Winery – Paso Robles…. Etc Etc.

The Association of Zinfandel Advocates & Producers is a 501(c) (3) non-profit, educational organization. ZAP is dedicated to advancing public knowledge of and appreciation for American Zinfandel and its unique place in our culture and history.

You can learn more about ZAP when sipping on a glass of Zin, what sounds better?

“The new locations provide beautiful and historic settings and the re-imagined events, with
their focus on tasting experiences, will offer discovery for both casual and devoted wine fans
in an environment of warm camaraderie,” says Mark Vernon, President of Ridge Vineyards
and ZAP President.

As I finish this blog & focus my energies to read more about Tasting Tracks at the Zinfandel Experience – it looks like it is time to open the bottle of Papapietro Perry Zinfandel I bought a few years years ago…..

…for inspiration of course. Cheers *Clink *Clink to a good glass of Zin!!
