This is a place to celebrate the love of life in Sonoma County. Plus, there is a LOT of fabulous wine. The location is basically a “Wine Wonderland” with something new to do and see around each bend.
Oh, and there is a glass waiting around each bend… too!
A slice of wine country bliss can be found here at Francis Coppola Winery in Alexander Valley.
At Coppola Winery, they are committed stewards of the land. Producing a variety of wines with elegance and quality in mind.
On the winery grounds, all 24 planted acres are sustainably farmed and part of the California Sustainable Winegrowing Program. They are also actively involved in the Fish Friendly Farming certification program.
Winemaker, Corey Beck, a native of Calistoga, grew up around vineyards. After working with Chateau Montelena for many years, he wanted to work with a wider range of grape varieties, in 1998 Beck started with Coppola’s property at Rubicon and in 2006 made his move to Coppola where he has found many fans.
“Wine-making and Film-making are two great art forms.” — Francis Ford Coppola
Enjoy the hospitality and enthusiasm of the staff while indulging in one of the many activities available to visitors of the property.
With over 10 different ways to experience an education in wine tasting, a pool, museum, restaurant and more… guests of Francis Coppola Winery leave with lasting memories.
One finds themselves immersed in the visitor experience as soon as they start the way up the grand staircase to the property perched on the hillside.
There is a real resort destination feel.
The approach here is a relaxing day full of high class service and attention to detail. By the end of the day, one feels as though this is… “just the place for them to be.”
Can you also find the traditional wine tasting bar? Of course.
Does it have that Larger-Than-Life Francis Ford Coppola “Feel” to it all? Why, of course it does.
When touring the property, I learned that Francis Coppola himself has a hand in the creation and approval of each wine label, as he also does with each new addition or installation to the property. As he should.
With a love for the area, a love for family and family connections, and a passion for wine, Francis Ford Coppola’s new enterprise at Coppola Winery seems like the perfect fit.
One man’s dream for someone who is looking to find a place in wine country for the whole family to enjoy.
On my last visit to Coppola Winery, we spent a whole day eating, wine tasting and basically just getting away from the daily grind. You don’t need to spend the day swimming in the pool to enjoy an afternoon lazing right next to it at the Poolside Cafe and Bar.
It is a true getaway with food, atmosphere and drink, including a full bar available at your fingertips.
If you find your stomach rumbling, the restaurant, Rustic, located on-site is absolutely fabulous for full lunch or dinner service.
Very tastefully done and well decorated in the restaurant as well as the whole place itself. Locals will often find weekly specials as well.
For families, the winery also has enough things to do in order to make it a more enjoyable day out for everyone involved.
From bocce ball courts, to tepee tents filled with children’s books and games, to a museum filled with movie attractions, kids of all ages will find something of interest here. So will adults.
Now let’s get to the basis of what most visitors to wine country are ALL ABOUT… the wine. Of course.
Whether it’s for a first date, a gift for a friend, or a summer picnic at the beach, picking the right wine can be a tricky task.
On the Coppola website – they even offer you a “Wine Chooser”, HERE, although in person at the Tasting Bar, the hospitality staff is also excellent at helping people find a wine to fit their own palate.
The Reserve Line of Sonoma County gems is a personal favorite year after year.
Limited Production Wines Featuring the Uniqueness of Sonoma County.
That is the name of the game.
Coppola’s Director of Winemaking, Corey Beck, hand-selects exceptional lots of fruit from prestigious vineyards for crafting small-batch wines exclusively for winery guests, wine family members and those who shop online. Not too shabby. Plus they are really tasty.
Each lot is crushed, fermented, and aged separately through the final blending stage to ensure the finished wine is worthy of the ‘Reserve’ title. I’ll take a case. But not every body shares my obsession over Sonoma County juice and that is what is so terrific about a visit to Coppola winery.
They create many other exceptional wines from around California to share with guests that visit the wine tasting room.
