After 5 generations of family members grow up in Sonoma County’s Wine Country, it is safe to bet, they know how to eat & drink well.
Fifth Generation Sonoma Wine-maker Steve Ledson has recently opened the new Zina Lounge at the Ledson Hotel on the historic Sonoma Square.
It was great to visit recently and check out the renovations done. Top notch work and design of the interior of the lounge makes guest feel welcome while at the same time offering a high end of craftmanship and attention to detail with each piece of furniture.
And the food and wine to boot…
Pouring wine from Zina Hyde Cunningham, Ledson and Mountain Terraces vineyards, it is a personal and exclusive experience for guests. Using locally grown products and a farm to table approach to dining, Chef Sogi excites the palate while elevating the nuances of each wine in the line up.
Chef Yoshiharu Sogi – a world class wine expert and chef extraordinaire was trained at Japan’s prestigious Tsuji Culinary School and began his career at the Michelin-starred Restaurant Quatre Saisons in Lyon. Not a bad line up of skills to say the least…
And to think that you can visit and enjoy Chef Sogi’s cuisine right here in California’s Wine Country… tis the Sonomad life.
He was a pleasure to meet and introduced each course with an explanation of the dish and the wine pairing. It was terrific for him to take the time to visit with guests.
This 3 course lunch or 6 course dinner showcases local purveyor’s with a seated meal. It is always nice to support local, go local and collaborate locally. Reservations are required so please see the website or call ahead ( 707 538 3823 ) to schedule a visit.
The plating was a work of art with each detail attended to. You can tell that the presentation was as important as the food itself in true Wine Country fashion. As we chatted with owner Steve Ledson, who was on hand for our dinner, we learned that the menu changes with the season as a true farm to table experience must.
I was treated to dishes with local flair and an asian infusion. Roasted Marinated Pork Loin with Raisin Chutney, Seared Ahi Tuna and Salmon Duo, Wasabi Accented Clam Chowder and the most delightful Chocolate Mousse with a banana flambe.
Yes, please.
I enjoyed each course and the service was on point with the Wine Steward leading the show with stories, anecdotes and knowledge of the area down pat.
