The Celebrity Chef Tour Dinner Series gives you the opportunity to do just that.
Visiting more than 20 cities across America each year, the James Beard Foundation gives the public the chance to rub elbows with iconic chefs and taste their delicious creations.
In June of 2017 the celebrity chefs will be coming to Sonoma County Wine Country. My glass is raised in anticipation.
Martin Ray Winery & Vineyards will be hosting this exclusive food lovers event in the city of Santa Rosa, California on June 10th. The property is located in the heart of the Russian River Valley with a unique portfolio of wines offering visitors a tasting experience that takes them to exceptional AVA’s of the region.
What a perfect location to pair with some amazing chefs and food dishes! The evening will begin with a wine reception featuring the wines of Martin Ray in the garden pavilion and appetizers. Yes, please.
With a backdrop of the sun setting over the wine country vineyards, event guests will taste appetizers, sip wines and mingle while the chefs work their magic in the kitchen. With a BBQ theme, the food will be served to guests ‘family style’ for a more relaxed feel that also lets you get to know your dining partners better.
Pass the BBQ sauce, please.
As one of the oldest continually working wineries in California, Martin Ray Winery & Vineyards was a pioneer of local winemaking. The new winery owners, which purchased the brand in 1990, are dedicated to the production of exceptional artisanal wines worthy of the Martin Ray name.
Recently, the winery has undergone a host of renovations with a large and fabulous new outdoor patio area complete with an outdoor kitchen. The theme of the Celebrity Chef Dinner will be ‘BBQ At Its Best’.
The four amazing chefs will treat everyone to grilled dishes under the stars of the pavilion starting with an appetizer mixer. Local Sonoma County Chef Mark Stark had graciously accepted the role of host for the evening and will be welcoming everyone to the winery.
After the wine reception, it is time to move onto a four course dinner complete with wine pairings featuring a diverse group of James Beard Foundation Award Winners topped off with a decadent dessert course. This is a not-to-miss event!!
In preparation and to announce this fabulous event coming to Sonoma, the #SonomaChat crew was offered a preview of the event.
Chefs Mark and Terri Stark and Martin Ray Winery invited our group of 8 out to the winery for a cooking demonstration.
In a preview of the June James Beard event, Chef Stark mingled with #SonomaChat guests and got ready to cook for us in the new Martin Ray outdoor kitchen.
Time to display his culinary skills.
It was a pleasure to watch such a wildly talented professional and such a passionate chef cook for our group. He walked us through each recipe step-by-step.
The dishes he prepared were a sneak peek at the BBQ dish he plans to create for the event. Lots of smoke and grilled flavor. The chef enthusiastically revealed plans for the upcoming event enticing us with his various special sauces and grill spices alike… add a little saucy attitude on the side please. He was extremely entertaining to watch and listen to.
A fantastic and memorable moment to watch Chef Stark cook and wow, what a fun personality too! He had us laughing the whole time. A specialty dinner with a James Beard award winning celebrity chef should be on YOUR bucket list.
We toured the winery, the vineyards, the barrel room, learned about the history of the winery and we spent time sipping wine on the beautiful outdoor event pavilion where the June 10th event will take place before sitting down to eat. A wonderful afternoon was had by all.
